Emotional Self care tips from VM Organic Stroud

Emotional self-care tips

Looking after ourselves is important, and the thing to remember is that it comes in a variety of ways. Not only do you need to focus on your physical and spiritual well-being, but it is also key to focus on your emotional self-care too.

But how do you look after yourself emotionally? Here are a variety of ways that you can try.

Make a log of your compliments

Note, Stickies, List, Memo, Paper

We all love receiving a compliment, particularly at times when we are feeling a little down. Why not keep hold of all those lovely things that people have said to or about you by keeping a log of all your compliments? That way, when you are feeling low, you can read them through and you will soon feel much better.

Try something that you have always wanted to do

Sport, Exercise, Escalation, Bicycle

We all have things that we have always wanted to try, but how often do we actually do them? If you are feeling a little tired of being a lurker, then say goodbye to waiting in the shadows and instead take the plunge and do that thing you have always wanted to!

Be silly

Composing, Monkey, Woman, Laugh

Life can be incredibly serious. Particularly if you have a family to take care of, or you have to focus on your job. This means that we all suffer from a lack of fun. A great way to fix this and to cheer ourselves up is to schedule in some time for a touch of silliness.

Practice some mindfulness

Harmony, Relax, Rock, Moqui, Stone

Mindfulness is a technique that is becoming increasingly popular for modern people. It encourages you to focus more on the here and now. How do things feel, how do they taste, what is around you? By focusing on these things just once a day, you will soon start to feel better about some of the other things around you that you cannot change and this can lead to a much improved emotional state.

Unplug from time to time

Meditation, Spiritual, Yoga, Meditating, Healthy, Zen

Technology is amazing. It allows us to connect with the world around us and do a variety of things on the go. That said, there are also some downsides to a tech-heavy world. Social media, in particular, can really interfere with everyday social interactions, which can have an impact on our emotional well-being. Try to reconnect with the old school method of keeping up with friendships by unplugging from time to time. It might not be easy, but if you set yourself an evening of no tech every week then you may be surprised by just how easy you find it!

Adult, Bath, Bathtub, Blur, Indoors

If you take care of your own emotional well-being then the rest should follow. So, why not take a little bit of you time and focus yourself on improving how you feel inside?
